Dynamic MMA--Programs for Kids
Kodokan Judo--MMA--Brazilian Jiu-jitsu--Muay Thai

The goal in all of our classes is to help our kids build stronger bodies, minds, and character. We do this by teaching them traditional martial arts skills along with Life skills such as self discipline, goal setting, respect, focus, dependability, and more.

Our kids have the right to feel safe. You can help them with this by following these tips and enrolling your child in one of our programs.

Child Safety Tips:

--It is important that your child understands that if grabbed by a stranger, they don't just cry and scream. If your child does scream and cry, it could easily be diffused by the would-be abductor, who simply says in a loud voice, "When you get home, you're in big trouble". When overheard by other people, it appears that someone is scolding their child who now appears not to need help. This allows the stranger to walk off with your child in broad daylight and in front of witnesses. Teach your child to scream as loudly as he/she can; " Help, help, this is not my parent!" This will alert people in the area to come to your child's assistance.

--CODE WORD--Most children who are abducted are taken by someone they know. Telling your child to stay away from strangers is not enough. An abductor will simply tell your child, "Your parent is hurt; I will take you to them". When your child hears this, he/she will likely relax their guard and leave with the person, even though they may hardly recognize them. To prevent this possibility, the parent needs to give their child a "Code Word" that only the parents and the child know. If the parent wants someone to pickup the child, that person is given the Code Word to use. Once you give decide on a Code Word, it is a good idea to change it from time to time. You need to make certain that what ever word is used, it is easily remembered by you and your child.

--Make sure your child can recite their full address and their phone number, including area code.

--In the case of an emergency, teach your child the 911 ABC's.
(A)-Pickup the phone and dial 911,
(B) Tell the person who answers, where you are and what is wrong,
(C) Don't hang up until the person tells you to.

--Teach your child to be aware of his/her surroundings. Keep their heads up and look around for anything that looks suspicious. Don't walk near alleys or the back of buildings. Take an alternate route if the one you're on looks unsafe or could be a hiding place for a predator. Make sure that your child doesn't walk beside vans or trucks in parking lots. It is easy for a predator to hide in these type of vehicles and grab a child as they walk by. Work with your child to try and improve their self-confidence. Predators rarely target kids who appear self-confident and aware.

--It is very important for children to be taught the proper communications techniques when they answer the telephone. This is extremely important when the parents are not home and the child is left alone.
1. Learn how to answer the phone and ask the identity of the caller.
2. Never tell that caller that you are home alone.
3. Tell the caller that your parents are busy and take a number for the parents to call back!

--Some of the basic rules for Internet Safety should include the following:
1.Never tell anyone any personal information, such as your name or address.
2.Never meet anyone in person that you meet online.
3.Never write any personal things about yourself in your "On-Line Profile".
4.Don't say mean things to anyone online.
5.If people are saying mean things online, go somewhere else online and tell your parents.
6.Don't open "e-mail" from someone you don't know.
7.Before you ever send an "e-mail" to a WebSite, ask your parents first.
8.Tell your parents if you see bad things online.
9.Don't do or say things online that you know you shouldn't do in real life.
10.Remember, sometimes people pretend to be someone else online.

--There are several things that children must do when walking alone:
1.Look confidant and hold your head up high and look around.
2.Don't walk near alleys or the ends of buildings without checking them out. Cross the street if possible to avoid them.
3.Avoid vans or delivery trucks where someone could be hiding to reach out and grab the child.
4.Children should never walk through parking lots by themselves.
5.Always walk with a friend or someone you know.
6.Never walk alone after dark.

What does you child stand to gain by taking part in our programs?

1. The confidence to stay clear of drugs and other negative influences.
2. They will gain the life skills of patience, respect, and perseverance.
3. Improved concentration and self-discipline to improve their grades.(statistics show that kids enrolled in martial arts have better grades in school)
4. The motivation to become the leader of their peers rather than the follower.
5. A friendly environment that is safe, enjoyable and educational to promote a positive outlook on life.
6. New friendships and common interests with other students.
7. Not to mention the ability to defend one's self if the need were to arise.

If your child doesn't seem to enjoy team sports such as football, soccer, or baseball, you really should give your child a chance to try something else by enrolling him/her in our either our Kids' MMA or Kids' Judo programs. While in the dojo, kids do learn and participate as a team, but are also recognized for their individual achievements.

Martial arts has proven beneficial for children with A.D.H.D. While other sports such as football have too many things going on at once and baseball has too long of lag time between plays, martial arts offers a variety of systematic activities that work well with young, active minds.

Help us spread the word. E-mail this site to your friends. Tell others that Mixed Martial Arts and Kodokan Judo is available in this area for kids age 4 through 12.

Dynamic Full Contact Club is the only facility in Douglas County that teaches Mixed Martial Arts for kids.
